Just before Christmas I was invited in the Perfume Holding headquarter in Milan to know more about Atkinsons, its new products and the people working intensely behind this historic brand of perfumery. It was 1799 when James Atkinson, an eccentric young gentleman, began to offer his refined cosmetics and fragrances to the most popular perfume shops in London. The success was immediate and explosive, enough to take him to open his own shop at 24 Old Bond Street in London, which soon became the official supplier to the Royal Court of England and to the most aristocratic and exclusive clientele in the world. From this period dates the recipe book of fragrances realized by James to which still refer the most classic fragrances of the brand such as Gold Medal and English Lavender, still created according to the original recipe.
The Atkinsons products are characterized by their classicality, naturalness and british attitude, although they have been subjected in time to a process of rejuvenation and modernization both for fragrances, that are entirely formulated in the laboratory in Parma (without loosing its English mood, Atkinsons today is a 100% made in Italy brand), both for the packaging and graphics. Among the most popular lines I love the one of the scented soaps, so delicious to be used also to scent drawers and wardrobes. In 2012 just from the success of the soaps a delicate line of bathroom products in 7 fragrances was launched. Of great importance are then the English Garden line, available in 4 variants inspired by the world of nature (I had already spoken about it here) and the new skin care line (hand and body creams) consisting of three families of products. A magical world of romantic perfumes and delicate sensations, with a strong appeal to tradition but with an eye to the future, this is the universe of Atkinsons … Enjoy the pictures of the day.

Poco prima di Natale sono stata inviata in casa Perfume Holding per conoscere più da vicino il marchio Atkinsons, i suoi nuovi prodotti e le persone che lavorano instancabili dietro questo storico brand della profumeria. Era il 1799 quando James Atkinsons, un eccentrico giovane gentiluomo, iniziò a proporre i propri raffinati cosmetici alle profumerie più in voga di Londra. Il successo fu immediato ed esplosivo, tanto da portarlo ad aprire un proprio negozio al numero 24 di Old Bond Street che divenne presto fornitore ufficiale della Corte Reale di Inghilterra e della clientela più aristocratica ed esclusiva del mondo. A questo periodo risale il libro di ricette di profumi realizzato da James a cui si rifanno ancora oggi le fragranze più classiche del brand come Gold Medal e English Lavender, create ancora secondo la ricetta originaria. I prodotti Atkinsons si caratterizzano da sempre per la loro classicità, naturalità e british attitude, sebbene siano stati sottoposti nel tempo ad un processo di svecchiamento e modernizzazione sia per quanto riguarda le fragranze, formulate interamente nel laboratorio di Parma (senza aver perso la sua “inglesitudine”, Atkinsons oggi è un marchio 100% made in Italy), sia per il packaging e la veste grafica. Tra le linee più in voga ricordiamo quella della candele profumate per ambiente e quella della saponette, così deliziose da essere utilizzante non solo per lavarsi ma anche per profumare cassetti e armadi. Proprio dal successo della saponetta viene lanciata nel 2012 una delicata linea bagno in 7 profumazioni. Di grande importanza sono poi la linea English Garden disponibile in 4 varianti ispirate al mondo della natura (ne avevo già parlato qui) e la nuova linea di skin care (creme mani e creme corpo) composta da tre famiglie di prodotti, ma destinata ad ampliarsi nel 2014. Un magico mondo di profumi romantici e sensazioni delicate, con un forte richiamo alla tradizione ma con un occhio sempre rivolto al futuro, questo è l’universo di Atkinsons… godetevi le immagini della giornata.
